To insert a menstrual cup, start out by finding a comfy position with your legs apart — sitting on the toilet or standing with one leg propped up on the toilet or bathtub ledge works quite well!
Smoosh the lid of the cup together, and then fold thecup to make it compact. Insert the cup into the vaginal canal, while continuing to hold the edges together. Using a little lube to help it slide in makes this much more comfortable!
Once you’ve pushed it in as far as it will go, release the edges so that the cup opens all the way and suctions onto the walls of the vagina,around the cervix. If thisdoesn’t happen immediately,try twisting the cup whilebearing down. Make sure the cup is covering your cervix by swirlinga finger around the sides — you can even it a gentle tug to make sure it’s created a seal. If it has,you should be able to feel a little bit of resistance!
